Timeless Concerts Box Office

Evening in Germany With Beethoven and Brahms

Two beloved composers, Ludwig Beethoven, and Johannes Brahms, will be featured on this concert, performed by pianist Heejung Kang, violinist LeeAnne Chenoweth, and cellist Karen Smith. In 1782, before age 12, Beethoven published his first works, which were for solo piano. The following year, Gottlob Neefe, wrote in “The Magazine of Music”: “If he continues like this, he will be without a doubt, the new Mozart”. Beethoven went on to write 9 symphonies, hundreds of small ensemble works, operas and vocal solos. Seldom heard, beautiful Beethoven songs will be performed on this concert, as well as other German arias and art songs by Strauss and Lehar, sung by soprano Judith Rodriquez and tenor Don O’Neal LeBlanc. Brahms, widely considered one of the 19th century’s greatest composers and the leading musician of the Romantic era, wrote passionate works for the piano trio of violin, cello and piano that we look forward to performing, as well as his lively Hungarian Dances! One-hour concert followed by complimentary fruit/cheese/dessert buffet, accompanied by pianist Steve Stroud who takes requests. Cash bar.
