The Road Less Traveled: John Baumann

When he released his last studio album – Proving Grounds in 2017 – John Baumann was hailed as a “Texas troubadour on the rise.” ​Lonestar Magazine​ wrote: “Too soon for accolades? Nah. More like right on time. And so long as he keeps gunning for the horizon ... there oughta be a lot more of ’em coming down the line..." One of the songs on his fourth studio album was “Old Stone Church.” Baumann shows his guts on this track, sharing his experience of losing his father to cancer. It earned a spot onto Saving Country Music's "Best Songs of 2017" list. Baumann is the perfect artist for a listening room setting. His songwriting deserves to be heard in this type of environment.
