"Telling Stories - A Musical Experience" - Melinda Wood Allen and Buddy Bray

In her second one-woman show, Melinda invites you into a musical exploration of the Stories of our Lives: songs that highlight the universality of the human condition.

With insightful interpretation and soaring vocals, Melinda brings a series of musical vignettes to life, exploring the depths and heights of each character, adventure and misadventure. Like a succession of 4-minute mini-plays, each song tells a complete story with a unique point of view: fairy tale, legend, tragedy, comedy, romance, whimsy… evoking our compassion and empathy, holding a mirror to ourselves.

Hear songs by such diverse composers as Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Cohen, Giacomo Puccini, Hank Williams, James Taylor and more, interspersed with Melinda’s own original stories, songs, and guitar licks, accompanied on piano by the inimitable Buddy Bray of the FWSO and Van Cliburn Foundation.
