When Amos discovers the truth, he turns against her, leading Roxie to face death row. Alongside fellow "Merry Murderess" Velma Kelly, Roxie competes for media attention and public adoration, ultimately uniting in pursuit of the elusive "American Dream" of fame, wealth, and freedom.
