Pocket Sketching (2-day Workshop)
Class will be all about diving into the wonderful world of watercolor painting using a super-easy sketch technique that you can practice anytime and anywhere—perfect for your travels! Class days are consecutive (Day 1 - Tuesday & Day 2 - Wednesday).
**Day 1:**
We’ll start by getting familiar with all the equipment we’ll be using. You’ll learn to use a water-soluble pen and how to combine it with watercolors for your sketches. We’ll cover how to create perspective with contrasts—playing with light and dark, as well as colors. And don’t worry; we’ll make sure to keep everything fun and simple!
**Day 2:**
On our second day, we’ll work with photos to capture a scene, focusing on perspective and how to translate that into our sketches. We’ll also explore how to identify the focal point in your artwork. Throughout the classes, we’ll take a moment to step back and admire our progress using a mat board, and you’ll learn how to use wax to preserve those bright white areas. We’ll wrap up the class with a delightful exercise that will put a smile on your face!
