Silvan Zingg returns to the Poncan Theatre July 24, 7pm for his Boogie, Blued & Jazz Piano concert. Switzerlands Ambassador of Boogie Woogie brings a high energy, commanding stage presence , thrilling the audience with lively tunes from the early eras when jazz was the new craze & took the country by storm . Come along on this musical journey throughout the decades as styles developed and transitioned to Boogie , Blues, Swing, Rock , Pop and Country. You'll be tapping your toes and maybe even get up and dance as Silvan tickles those ivories and brings the big Grand Piano to life!
Silvans career has taken him all over the world performing in prominent concert halls, theatres and music festivals sharing the stage with B.B. King, Carlos Santana , Chuck Berry, George Benson , Quincy Jones and a host of others! Some of the composers /musicians styles that have influenced Silvan are Oscar Petterson, Duke Ellington, Errol Garner, George Gerswin , Benny Goodman along with many modern composers and song writers such as the Beatles . Silvans repertoire is extensive from Classical to Country ! Something for ever musical taste.
We also want to invite our audience to join us during intermission for the New Release of Paintings by local artist Susan Jones. These works will be for viewing and sales. Last year we had an auction of some of the paintings during the show and it brought excitement & fun as the bidding intensified! It was such a hit we are doing this again , but with additional new paintings of early film stars & the locomotive trains. You dont want to miss this event ! A Silvan Zingg Concert never disappoints !
