A Monster Calls

Outcry Youth Theatre presents
A Monster Calls

based on the novel by Patrick Ness and inspired by an original idea by Siobhan Dowd
devised by Sally Cookson, Adam Peck, and the Company

Conor has the same dream every night, ever since his mother first fell ill. But tonight is different. Tonight, when he wakes, there’s a monster at his window. It’s elemental, a force of nature, and it wants something from Conor. It wants the truth. Conor is struggling. His mom is very ill – his grandmother bosses him around – his dad has a new family in America – and there are horrible bullies at school. And now, at 12:07, in the middle of the night, a monster comes for him. The monster promises him three stories, and then Conor will tell the fourth – and it will be the truth. A powerful and important story of love, hope, and loss, told with imaginative staging, movement, and plenty of theatre magic.

Directed by Becca Johnson-Spinos
