Welcome to the Cabinet of Curiosities!

Behind every mysterious door lies a new story waiting to be told.
This semester, teen performers will journey into a world of imagination, mystery, and theatrical discovery as they explore the Cabinet of Curiosities. Through compelling characters, imaginative storytelling, dynamic choreography, and memorable musical selections, students will strengthen their skills while discovering what it truly means to tell a story through performance.

Designed for both experienced performers and those looking to grow, this class offers a welcoming environment where students are challenged creatively while building confidence, artistry, and collaboration.

What is Teen Musical Theatre?

Teen Musical Theatre is designed to help performers strengthen all three pillars of musical theatre acting, singing, and dance while developing a deeper understanding of storytelling and performance.

Students will explore more advanced material and techniques than our younger classes while continuing to develop healthy vocal habits, expressive movement, strong stage presence, and authentic character work. Classes include skill-building exercises, choreography, scene work, vocal coaching, ensemble activities, and performance opportunities that encourage every student to continue growing as an artist.

Whether students hope to pursue theatre more seriously or simply love performing, this class provides a supportive space where everyone is encouraged to learn, take creative risks, and have fun.
Throughout the semester, students will explore:

-Vocal performance and interpretation
-Musical theatre dance technique
-Acting through song and scene work
-Character development and script analysis
-Performance quality and stage presence
-Ensemble storytelling and collaboration
-Musicality, rhythm, and movement precision
-Audition techniques and rehearsal etiquette
-Confidence, creativity, and artistic expression
-Performance preparation for the showcase
-Preparing Performers for the Stage

Musical theatre develops far more than performance skills. Students strengthen communication, leadership, collaboration, adaptability, discipline, creative problem-solving, and confidence while learning to support one another as an ensemble.

Our instructors strive to create an encouraging environment where every performer feels challenged, celebrated, and inspired to continue growing both on and off the stage.

Building Toward the Showcase

Throughout the semester, students will continue refining the material they’ve explored as they prepare for our end-of-semester showcase during Showcase Week (November 2, day and time to be announced).
The showcase provides performers with an opportunity to celebrate their growth, demonstrate the skills they’ve developed, and share their love of musical theatre with family and friends.
