Kids Musical Camp is for students ages 9-12, entering 3rd grade - 6th grade. If your student is entering 7th grade in the Fall of 2026, please sign them up for our Teen Musical Camp or read out to the Education Coordinator regarding which camp your student is best suited for.
Auditions are the first day of camp!
This musical camp mounts a Jr. musical in just 4 weeks! All aspects are produced by the students and staff, from acting to costumes and makeup design to light and sound design to social media and marketing and beyond there is something for every student interested in theatre and how we create that magic. While we can accommodate absences if needed please know that ALL students must be present for ALL of Tech Week (the last week of camp) leading into our performances and strike following our closing show is mandatory.
Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!
Seussical JR. provides wonderful creative opportunities in terms of set design, lighting and costuming and can easily accommodate a large cast of expandable “Seussian” creatures.
A parent/guardian is required to be in attendance for a short orientation the 1st 20 minutes of the 1st day of camp. We appreciate you marking this on your calendars.
Students are required to provide all undergarments and shoes for the production.
