Proyecto Act 1 - 2026
Proyecto Act I is a two-week pre-professional theatre intensive designed for passionate young actors who are beginning to consider a future in the performing arts. Hosted/Produced by Teatro Dallas, this immersive program offers serious high-school performers a rare opportunity to train with working theatre professionals while gaining insight into what it truly means to pursue acting at the collegiate and professional levels.
Open to students ages 15-19, Proyecto Act I is ideal for teens preparing for college theatre programs, conservatory training, or professional acting careers. Over the course of two intensive weeks, participants will engage in rigorous daily training led by professional actors, instructors, and visiting artists from the Dallas–Fort Worth theatre community and beyond.
Students will work with three core instructors specializing in acting, movement, and voice, building a foundation in the essential tools of the actor. Through a series of classes, rehearsals, and workshops, participants will explore how to break down scripts, analyze text, and develop a personal acting process.
Throughout the program, guest artists and theatre professionals will offer specialized workshops and industry insight, helping students understand the expectations and pathways of professional training. The intensive culminates in a public showcase performance for directors, producers, and university representatives from across the Dallas–Fort Worth area, offering students the chance to present their work and connect directly with professionals and college programs.
Unlike many comparable programs that require expensive travel or residential stays, Proyecto Act I provides top-tier professional training at an accessible cost for local students, making serious theatre education available within the community.
Proyecto Act I is not simply a camp; it is a launching point for young artists beginning their journey toward the professional stage.
Teatro Dallas Refund Policy
Late arrival or no show tickets will not be refunded. In the event of a cancellation by Teatro Dallas, patrons may either donate their ticket, reschedule or be entitled to a refund.
