After the Dream

After The Dream
Director: Khira Haley Playwright: Cherie Williams & Hannah Elena
Performance: March 26th - April 25, 2027

After the Dream is a moving story of faith, sacrifice, grief, and the fight for change. Set on Easter Sunday, 1968, just days after Dr. King’s assassination, Denise “Niecy” returns home to loss and a divided community. Woven through the conflict is a celebration of gospel songs that carried generations through slavery, Jim Crow, and civil rights, becoming a voice of their
own. Ultimately, the play asks: after the sacrifice, after the dream, what comes next?
